Very Basic All-in-One Diapers are complete; no separate cover is needed. These diapers are so thin and trim‚ they don't take up much more room than a disposable diaper in the diaper bag. With two full layers of soft‚ thirsty 100% cotton birdseye in the body with 8 more in the center soaker pad‚ they still absorb as much or more than leading bulkier brands. The outer waterproof fabric rolls in on the legs to keep wetness and leaks contained. While there is no notch or snap down for a tiny newborn‚ the rise should sit just below their cord stump to allow for healing. Fasteners are quick and easy Aplix®. Every diaper has cross-over tab for a more customized fit‚ as well as laundry tabs to eliminate the laundry chain.
A Super Booster Doubler™ is included with every Very Basic AIO diaper for overnight or extended diaper wear (2 layers of your diaper body fabric choice topped with flannel). Choices Size Option - XS/Newborn: birth - 12lbs
- Small: 10lbs - 16lbs
- Medium: 15 - 25 lbs‚ 15" Rise
- Medium-Long: 15 - 25lbs‚ 17" Rise
- Large: 22 - 40lbs‚ 18" Rise
- Extra-Large: 40+ lbs‚ 20" Rise
** Note: diaper rise measurements listed above are the fully stretched rise measurements on the diaper. When the diaper is "at rest‚" subtract approximately 2 to 3 inches from the rise listed above. Inner Body Absorbency - Birdseye Option: Two layers of your choice of white‚ unbleached or organic birdseye in the diaper body with eight layers in the soaker
- Hemp Option: Two layers of hemp jersey in the diaper body with 4 layers of hemp French terry in the soaker (pro: more absorbency than birdseye; con: takes longer to dry than birdseye)
- Bamboo Option: Two layers of bamboo fleece in the diaper body with 6 layers of bamboo fleece as the soaker. Bamboo dries faster than hemp but slower than cotton. It is more absorbent than cotton but seems to be less absorbent than hemp. It maintains its softness like no other diaper fabric.
Which to choose? Bleached birdseye will last the longest. Unbleached birdseye feels a bit softer at first. Hemp will wear out first but has the best absorbency. Inner Lining You might choose to line your AIO with athletic wicking fabric‚ lining the entire diaper. If you choose this option‚ be sure to indicate which color you would like. You can also choose organic cotton velour or bamboo velour in which case the diaper body layer closest to baby will be replaced by this fabric. Outer Waterproof Layer Soaker Style Options - Internal: Soaker is sewn into the body of the diaper for a complete one-piece diaper and no separate parts.
- Snap-In Quick-Dry Contoured: Soaker snaps into diaper to shorten drying time (does not need to be unsnapped for the washer)
- Snap-In Quick-Dry Contoured with your choice of topping option for a stay-dry feeling
* Note that if you choose an external soaker it will be automatically topped with your choice of inner lining. So you can just choose the second option. If you have a plain inner diaper body but want a special soaker topping choose the appropriate option. Soaker Fabric Options - Standard: Soaker is made from the same fabric as inner body (hemp jersey body has hemp French terry soaker; birdseye body has birdseye soaker)
- Organic Cotton French terry: Soaker is made using cotton French terry - the same weight as hemp French terry‚ but it is a bit trimmer. Slightly less absorbent than hemp‚ yet more absorbent than birdseye. Easier to take care of than hemp in certain water conditions (such as hard water).
- Sherpa: This is a very absorbent option and quick to dry however you may find it bulky in the diaper.
- Bamboo: Your soaker will automatically be made with bamboo if you chose bamboo as your inner body. However if you have a different fabic for the body but you want 6 layers of bamboo as the soaker this is where you will indicate that.
Care Instructions - Prewash your diaper several times to wash away the fabric's natural oils (it may take up to 8 washings to reach maximum absorbency; prewash a few times and plan on frequent changes the first few wearings)
- Machine wash warm or hot with very little detergent
- Tumble dry or line dry
- No fabric softeners or dryer sheets
- Never use ANY diaper cream with athletic wicking fabric
- Remove stains by sunning
