My name is Trista, diaper-sewer for you, and for my two little girls. I'm a former globe-trotting project manager and software support analyst, now staying home with my two beautiful
daughters.
Our family didn't start cloth diapering our oldest child until late in my oldest's first year. It was a decision long-time
coming, with a lot of research and consideration. We were hesitant at first, but as soon as we used our first
cloth diaper we were hooked! The only problem I ran into was fit (my daughters are very tall and thin) It was very difficult to find the perfect fitting diaper that was
readily accessible for purchase. Because the perfect diapers I did find were ones that, of course, everyone wanted
because they were so perfect!
I began making my own diapers was more out of necessity than anything else -- my daughter needed diapers that fit her
tall skinny frame, and she needed them fast. It took me a few tries of different patterns to find the right diaper
for her, but when I made my first Very Basic AIO, it was love at first sight. It is the perfect diaper! Next I
purchased all the Very Baby patterns and had an absolute ball learning to create these adorable little things.
After making dozens of diapers for my own kids, I decided to start my own business and pursue the cottage licensing
program offered by Very Baby. I began experimenting with different types of fabrics in my kids' diapers, and as a marathon runner, wicking fabric was a natural choice. After using it in many of my own kids diapers, I wanted to develop a new ultra-trim and comfortable pocket diaper that incorporated this fabric, and the Marathon Pocket Diaper was born.
